Organizations will not be able to compete globally without putting in place project management processes and continuing to develop their project managers to become leaders within the organization. Technical skills are no longer enough. Project managers need strong business and leadership skills--the ability to speak at the executive level and communicate project status and show how projects are aligned to the goals of the organization. Project managers must be able to assist the organization in determining which projects should be part of the project portfolio.

When four of ten CEOs (40 per cent) believe that there could be a major economic downturn in the next two years, might be the proverbial canary in the mine. Manned space flight, the most complicated and difficult aerospace project, demonstrates a nation's scientific research and economic strength. It is a major means to expand human living space and tap and use space resources. China will never be a superpower, but as the world's biggest developing country, with 1.3 billion people, it should have a place in aerospace development and make due contributions.

It will vary by case. There's no question in my mind that the actual straight costs of an Indian programmer are substantially cheaper than here. Yes, there's a lot of overhead associated with doing a project in India. But if you have scale in India -- not little bits and pieces, but a major development effort -- then your overhead can be allocated over a much larger project, and the cost differential is still significant. Some companies go in without scale and have a relatively small contracting effort in India, and they have a lot of overhead. They don't realize substantial cost savings.

You couple a sense of entrepreneurship with an extremely intelligent, technically capable people who understand markets, and that's what you see happening in India. India has a leg up on China.

People talk about the exciting growth prospects in Brazil, China and India, but they forget that the US is not as developed as Western Europe. Plus, 66 million users in India will not have a huge ARPU, but it would be a lot of money in the US.

Based on the billion people in China, and the likely hitting of middle class status for hundreds of millions of people over the next several years, GM wants to be there early, establish a brand equity early. And their ambitions are to be a major player in China for the long term.

The Indian government has not shot itself in the foot. Most likely it has shot itself in the head, ... By conducting five nuclear tests India made a major miscalculation not merely about the United States but about India's own capability. The Indian government has deluded itself into the absurd assumption that the possession of nuclear weapons will make India into a superpower at a time when hundreds of millions of India's people are in abject poverty.

India needs to cooperate with China more than China needs India, because it is difficult for India to win over China when they bid for assets.

It is no longer the issue of whether one should focus on China, or India versus China, but of India and China.

From an equities point of view, we think China will go from strength to strength over the next couple of years.
