We see more fatalities in frontal crashes but side impact crashes tend to be more injurious.

Once again, these tests show the importance of side-impact bags. In a head-on crash you have the entire front end of the vehicle to crush and help protect you. In a side crash, there's very little there to absorb the impact, so you are much better protected with side air bags.

Analysts are great at providing data and information that the average buy-side shop doesn't have the capacity to get on their own. But no one on the buy side was ever under the illusion that these people were objective.

We've conducted well over 100 frontal offset crash tests, and this is the first time we've seen a major fuel system leak.

As this test series shows, most of these vehicles aren't going to offer the kind of protection they should be offering in the event of a serious frontal crash.
