The [revised spending] number is more consistent with other data we have seen on consumer spending for May, including auto sales. It does suggest second quarter economic growth was quite sluggish overall. But we already knew that. It probably doesn't change the outlook for the second half of the year.

Yes, I think it's going to be a fantastic buy. I think we're going to pack the whole year's Super Bowl rate-of-gain, which tend to average 16 percent during the last 18 years, compound annual growth of the S&P 500, 16 percent a year. But the overall economy is still sluggish. As a result, our near-term outlook remains cautious.

We have a fairly pessimistic outlook on U.K. growth. Our interest-rate outlook for the U.K. going forward is favorable for bonds.

Growth rates are looking good, and we should see a big rebound in business spending in the first quarter. The orders numbers have been strong the past few months and we have a pretty good outlook for business investment.

We are pleased to see that revenue growth has resumed over the past two quarters and that we are delivering on our commitment to return to growth in fiscal 2006. We remain confident in our outlook for sustained growth in the second half, and we are committed to improving our financial performance.

Housing, the strongest part of the economy, is still booming, and manufacturing, the weakest part, should gain strength in coming months. Put it all together and it paints a pretty economic picture of solid growth and low inflation.

Some of the conditions that have ripened the growth outlook at the start of 2006 are unlikely to last into spring. Abnormally warm weather boosted construction activity in December. ... Judging by a 46,000 gain in construction employment in January, the winter 2006 will go down as an unusually early and strong period for building activity.

PMC-Sierra has a business outlook that is undiminished from what it was six to nine months ago. I believe PMC can grow its revenue 40-50 percent in each of the next three years. We are getting to the point where there are some compelling values out there. If you look out 18 months, I think investors in this sector will do well.
