There's quite a healthy outlook for the economy and inflationary pressures are fairly subdued. I can't see why they need to do anything. They'll keep the policy statement unchanged.

When you look at the fact that real wage gains are very much in line with productivity, I do not believe that we have inflationary pressures on the economy, ... As long as we can continue to see that picture in the future, then I think we should not be extraordinarily concerned about inflationary pressures.

The Fed didn't act because the economy looks like its still right around its equilibrium level. The economy is growing slowly, inflation is under control. So the Fed will just leave policy unchanged until the economy gets knocked off a dead center, and I don't think that's going to happen in the near future.

Slowly, but inexorably, inflationary pressures are building across the economy.

Inflationary pressures definitely are increasing, but very gradually and only moderately. I don't think it's cause enough for the MAS to react with a policy tightening in April.
