The 17th Street Canal ordsprog

The 17th Street Canal is doing great, and we're moving very aggressively to the London Avenue breaches.

That is not true. The same process that was used to fix these breaches (at 17th Street and London Avenue) was used to fix the breaches in the Inner Harbor Canal.

At London Avenue, it's hard to find a staging ground for all the equipment -- it's challenging. The breaches are larger and deeper than at the 17th Street Canal.

If you looked at a major earthen dam being designed during the same time frame as the 17th Street Canal was being designed, there would have been boards of consultants and rigorous outside peer review that probably would have detected and caught many problems that are coming to light with the 17th Street project.

It's my belief that had there been a report coming out that said, 'Yes, we've confirmed that a terrorist has blown up the 17th Street Canal levee,' then everybody would have jumped all over that and been trying to do everything they could. I'm a block from the 17th Street Canal, which flooded the city, and I got pounded. I decided in December that I was going to build my office back, because it was completely destroyed, and put myself back in the city and prepare myself to do shows as soon as the facilities are open.

We are moving to Fourth Street and Second Avenue S.

When this project comes in, Western Avenue will go back to what it was before (the opening of the Route 3 bridge in north Augusta) and Capital Street will become another Western Avenue. If you have the power, deny them the use of Capitol Street.

Information disseminated this weekend from London is totally erroneous. He's not purchased a house in London, he's not been scouting schools for his kids, he has no intention to moving to London.
