en What I hope kids take from this presentation is to start a discussion with their parents about this and help them to become more aware.

en We hope that this program will provide both kids and their parents with a great educational start to the summer.

en Clark Flatt will do a presentation and put the whole thing in perspective. He tells the story and gives the facts on how we as a community can work together and do some very simple things to help prevent teen suicide. After his presentation there will be a time for general discussion with those attending.

en Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness. Really what parents want is more information on what their kids are doing so they can have a discussion with them.

en If anything, it'll just get parents to be more aware of the kids that are coming over. If kids want to drink, they're going to do it one way or another.

en We're glad with the way this is turning out and we hope kids walk away from this with a visual presentation of Christmas and that it's the birth of Christ,

en The main reason children don't tell their parents what is going on is because the kids are afraid they will get in trouble. Kids stop listening when they're being lectured or yelled at — adults do too, nobody likes it. A realistic presentation of facts and good listening skills are what is needed, along with follow-up at a later time to make sure your points got across and continue to have value for the children.

en To be able to have the parents come in and see, while the children are learning the ballet, their parents are either in the waiting room or watching the kids, they have the opportunity to go in the art gallery or just look around, see the theatre and the same with the Head Start.

en We have to go back to some of the basics. Those basics are the parents have to get involved in the young people lives. The parents have to know what their kids are doing. The churches are going to have to get involved. We are going to have to start educating our kids.

en We have this discussion with parents in our practice all the time. Start them when they are young and they will grow up understanding about making financial decisions.

en We were making progress largely because parents and kids became more aware of the dangers.

en I'm confident with some education, kids will do just fine. It's up to parents and educators to help them become aware.

en Part of it is, some parents don't know. The schools are obligated to make parents aware of it -- but it's a letter from school, so sometimes you read those and sometimes parents don't.

en You have to sit down with kids at ages 6, 7, 8 and start to inoculate them against this insanity by having these awkward conversations about what they might see. Parents have to get to these kids first ? not last.
