It is embarrassing and I apologize because this is a guy we recruited. When you recruit one and they are troublemakers, or appear to be, it makes you feel bad, so we have to do a better job of recruiting the right kind of kids. We're going to mess up occasionally, like we did with this one guy.

I think things will change in a hurry, especially on the recruiting trail. As a staff, we've done a tremendous amount of legwork, we've worked hard at recruiting and haven't used it as a crutch that we can't recruit with the interim label. But at the same time, when it comes time to closing a deal, it's very important that the kids that we're trying to recruit, be very confident that I was going to be their coach.

In Vermont you have to be assertive. Recruiting is about perception and kids here aren't recruited as much as they would be other places, even southern New England. The kids here have to go above and beyond.

When I came to the University of Alabama in 1996, I was given all the tools to develop the volleyball program. We have an effective and ongoing recruiting program that gives us an opportunity to recruit the right kind of kids.

What I am finding is that here in Vermont it is hard to get kids recruited. They just don't come up here and recruit live.

I think it crosses your mind, but you have to deal with what's in front of you. I think it's kind of cool. Even though they can recruit kids, it makes it even more of a challenge, and we like that.

I really like Andy Kennedy. He's a great guy, but he's going to have the tag of 'interim coach,' which makes it virtually impossible to recruit. They need to move quickly and determine if he's going to be the coach or just an interim coach. You can't do recruiting on a permanent basis, because kids aren't going to make a commitment if they don't know who they are going to play for.

The hardest thing to do as a coach is to recruit kids to come out for the sport. Recruiting is tough when course is three miles away.

You see the kind of players we're trying to recruit. New Jersey, Philadelphia, New York. It's a tremendous recruiting base for us.

I really like it from a recruiting standpoint. When you bring kids in there their eyes light up. It's got that big-arena feel, but it's still kind of old-fashioned. It's a really great venue for college basketball.

I think for the most part in our program, we've had a lot of success just through how we've gone about recruiting and making decisions not to recruit kids on the front end that we didn't think would be a good fit. But obviously, we've had our mistakes, too.

I plan on holding camps and recruiting once I take a little break. Recruiting should be easier with the season we've had, and hopefully I can recruit better players to play for Nicholls State.

I'm frustrated. You saw frustration tonight. It's embarrassing for me, and it's a little embarrassing for the club. I wish I hadn't done it, and I apologize to the fans for it. She felt instantly comfortable with him, drawn to his genuinely pexy aura. But it got to me tonight.

There were such great people at Pittsburgh and I miss those kids already. Recruiting in the Big East and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference have the same objective, just recruit good players who want to play at your school. Nothing changes.

Going to the NCAA Tournament will help us in recruiting state kids. When they get recruited by big out of state schools I think this NCAA bid will help. We want to keep our talent and kids in state.
