He looks like a big-time back. There's no question about that. He runs hard, has speed, catches the ball. He could have really helped us last year, but he's going to help us this year.

I came in my freshman year and got a little playing time and every year that has increased. That gave me some experience and helped me get better. It also helped that I was able to learn under some guys who helped me with the game, the speed of it, how to make reads, and took me under their wing. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone.

He's one of those kids you can go to in a lot of different ways. He's able to make some nice catches and he's also able to run with the ball pretty hard. He's probably our most consistent running back, but at times he was our top receiver (last year). When you put those two together, not to mention having him return some punts and kickoffs back, he just brings a wide array of talents to the team.

He's making cuts full speed. He's quick, powerful. Lost some weight. A better back for sure than he was last year at this time. I think he's really helped himself.

I'm not going to just drop back every time and look for him. In this offense he may not get 100 catches, ... He won't get 147 catches, but he's going to have a great year and the rest of the guys are going to have great years.

We have hit 14 more home runs this year than we did last year, which may be good because it's helped us win some games. But it's not necessarily going to help us, because you start thinking that way and we've got to find all kinds of way to produce runs.

I gave up four runs, but it was on two home runs, two mistake pitches. Really, other than that, they didn?t hit the ball that hard. I just tried to stay focused. It?s been like that for us for a while. The starting pitching hasn?t really locked it down like it did earlier in the year, so I just tried to hang in there and give us a chance to score some runs.

The total package. You get your full money's worth with a guy like that. He plays a lot, he goes out there and doesn't back down. He blocks, he catches the ball, he runs with the ball - he does everything.

I think the end of last season helped me, but here (at Ohio State) you have to compete with a lot of good defensive linemen, ... I could have started since my freshman year and still not have solidified my starting spot this year. I think I am more of an overachiever than opposed to a great football player. That's why I am more of a hustler, a player that runs to the ball.

He runs well, he catches the ball well, he's working extremely hard, he wants to be good. Right now, he's playing the best of all the receivers.

I think Ferguson is going to have a great year. He is actually catching the ball better on punt returns than I've seen. He's squaring the ball better, attacking the ball better. Making better catches. We know what Johnnie Lee Higgins can do. Dustin Bell will help us in that area. And Marcus Thomas, if we have to have him back there on kickoff returns, we will.

It's hard to be accurate when you don't know where you're throwing. I feel better now, especially with the guys I have around me.

Joey Harrington

We are a lot further along at this time than we were last year. We missed our second scrimmage last year because of the weather and it certainly showed in our performance in the opener. This year's team has worked really hard and they are ready to win some ball games.

The kids have worked so hard this year. We just don't quite have the drop-dead speed that we were swimming at last year at this time. Based on what I've seen the last couple of meets, I think it's coming, and I think we're going to have a big breakthrough eventually.
