He's out there competing for a job. He had really put together some solid bullpen performances, and tonight he earned his start.

I'm really excited about the way my teammates picked me up tonight. The bullpen and our offense overcame my poor start and I'll be able to sleep tonight because of that.

I don't think too many players played themselves on our World Cup roster tonight. There were some solid performances, but nothing that would make a strong case for a variety of players. It was okay for some players, others not too good.

Ian pitched his heart out tonight and really deserved for something good to come out of this start.
