I've seen them all, Jason Gore, John Daly. There wasn't anybody out there hitting the ball any better than Casey. In a perfect scenario, you'd have Joe hitting sixth. But if it's not perfect, I could see him hitting fifth, somehow behind Casey and Jason Bay. This is a guy who knows how to keep the offense moving, hit to all fields.

John Daly played a practice round Tuesday, ... and a couple of the par-threes are so short that Daly didn't have time to smoke an entire cigarette.

This is like Casey at the Bat , except instead of striking out, Jason hits a home run. And it gets better. He keeps hitting shot after shot.

For Casey to get to this stage is impressive. They had a (U-18) camp a month and a half ago and Casey wasn't invited. He wasn't in the mix. He wasn't on their radar. Then they saw him play (in Orlando) and bumped him up.

Jason does what Jason does. Jason can hit a few outside shots, and he can take the ball to the basket. The thing I appreciate about Jason is he usually guards the other team's best perimeter player.

I felt OK but I wasn't that strong. I wasn't hitting the ball too well at that time. I'm hitting the ball better now, so I think that helps.

Casey Dick — he used to kill us every day on scout team, ... He used to throw that ball, and you would just hear the ball hitting the pads on the receivers every time — real loud.

As nice a person as he may be, being a foursome partner for John Daly must be the world's worst nightmare. It could send you into a lunatic asylum. Here we are, John, we're 3 up with five to play. This 310-yard hole with out-of-bounds on the left, lake on the right and it's your honor. Just pop it up there. 'Why, no, I can drive the green!'

No doubt, it's nice to be able to come back with a guy like Casey. It was a very strange game for us hitting-wise. We hit the ball well, especially in the early innings. But you've got to hit it with guys in scoring position.

C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

He came in with a [1.33] ERA and he pitched just like it. He did all the things to keep the ball off the barrel. So give him a lot of credit. We didn't play all that well behind, so it wasn't much of a game. The couple mistakes Jason made left the park. It wasn't much of a contest.

I've been close. So it was fun. With Jason hitting the shots, I said, 'Jason, I need one more.' He said, 'I got you.' But I wound up getting it from RJ. Even better.

I've seen it for so many years how the fans and the media are looking for somebody to have fun with. John Daly is right there. He's still a fan favorite because he's different. He's not just a machine.

I like how the players come through and acknowledge us. They love it. (Friday), it seemed like the interaction was the best I've ever seen. They all seemed to like what was going on - except John Daly .
