en There are a lot of young quarterbacks, but there's not a lot of Dan Marinos out there. There's not a lot of John Elways. I think today's game puts more on a quarterback than on any other player. I don't envy them at all. And it's no wonder that their careers tend to be a lot shorter now than they used to be.

en It only makes sense that they are going to try to find out if you quarterbacks can win the game, especially with us because we have young quarterbacks and a bunch of young receivers and proven talent at running back. It's a work in progress. At least we'll come out of the month of September having passed that test. Beyond that we'll wait and see.

en People are always trying to compare quarterbacks and that's tough to do because everybody is his own quarterback and own person. Tom's obviously a phenomenal quarterback, player and person, so that's an honor to be compared to him.

en Quarterbacks today are just trying to keep their teams in games, instead of losing games. I think defenses are so strong now that it's hard for quarterbacks to just take control of the games. With parity being the way it is, you just don't have dominant teams. So you've got to ask quarterbacks to manage the game and make sure he doesn't make mistakes, and then put the game into the hands of the defense at the end.

en The leadership of our quarterback and the resolve of the offense was exceptional. John was poised throughout the game and he gained confidence. I was proud to be his coach today.

en Usually it is not as hard on them (the quarterbacks) as it is hard on the other guys. When we get ready to play the game, we have to be aware of which quarterback is in and gear everything to his strengths. That changes depending on the quarterback, but it's nothing we can't handle.

en The first one and the one that will get the most talk will be about the quarterback, low hits on quarterbacks, putting a little more burden in the proposed rule on the defensive player.

en I'm sure John would love to win the scoring race. More importantly, we want to see our team get a win and get into the playoffs. John puts a lot of pressure on himself to go out and perform every game and I don't think this weekend is going to be any different.
