With as windy as ordsprog

He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. With as windy as it was we knew it was going to be a small ball game to an extent. So we went out there and played accordingly.

Overall we played well today. It was windy and cold but we hit the ball well and Brooke pitched a great game.

I knew Liddell was good, but he played great. He doesn't have to have to ball to make plays. That's very valuable. He's going to be a pro someday. He knows how to play. Most young kids need the ball to score. He played a very mature game.

We knew any run we could get in would be a plus because we weren't going to knock out any (in this game). The small ball worked.

I played with a small line-up because our ball handling was atrocious. We played small against them in Denver and we played well.

It was nice to make the playoffs, but we knew we would have to play better than we did against Galveston Ball. Ball did everything better than we did in this game, and played very well.

Before we knew only the extent of the ice cover. We also knew that the sea ice extent had decreased over the last 20 years, but we knew very little about ice thickness.

The girls played extremely well defensively. It was windy conditions. They played smart. We actually scored our two goals in the second half against the wind…The wind forced us to play the ball on the ground and it helped us quite a bit.

The first half of the game, we played a little small ball. You've got to do whatever you can to try and score runs.

Back when the game was on Sega Genesis, it was hard to find competition. I dominated everyone I played. Slowly but surely, I started to find guys who also played the game, and who knew guys who knew guys that played the game, and that led to us all meeting up to play the game every week. It was like our poker night.

She's doing so great. You knew she was going to be a success. She took the game serious. We just played a small part in her development on and off the court. She still has a lot more to offer.

You can't think about a small ballpark. You have to keep the ball down. That's what you must do in the game. Everybody said the ball flew out in Cincinnati, but it's a good field. It doesn't matter if it's a small ballpark, big ballpark. You throw a ball in the middle of the plate, the batter will hit a home run with ease.

I'm proud of our guys. They never quit, they knew what they were going up against today and they hung in there and battled. It was a great ball game for the top two small-school teams in the area.
