I knew Liddell was good, but he played great. He doesn't have to have to ball to make plays. That's very valuable. He's going to be a pro someday. He knows how to play. Most young kids need the ball to score. He played a very mature game.

I knew this game was going to be like this. When we played them down there we shot the ball about as well you could possibly shoot it, so the score was a little deceiving, but Coach Clifford had his kids ready to play and we just made some plays.

It was a tough game all the way. Chicago played well and we knew they'd play hard. We were fortunate to make some plays at the end. Jiri is very good off the ball and sees things very well. He was there at the right time.

Liddell has a very diversified game, a very mature game for a freshman. He had a little bit of an Oscar Robertson game. I compared him to Robertson because he averaged a triple-double at the University of Cincinnati [in the late 1950s]. He has a great nose for the ball. He knows how to play.

I played like crap, ... I had a chance to make plays and didn't do it. The result of that is us losing the game. I didn't make good decisions. You can't play like that, turn the ball over five times, and expect to win. I'm not gonna put this on me being young.

That game was fierce, ... The most noteworthy thing in my book was how incredibly hard Georgia Tech played in every aspect of the game. We've got to take care of our business and try to play a little bit like the way they played: force the issue, make some plays and don't turn the ball over.

We came out, and we played like we knew we could play. Everybody responded well, and we came out and played like a mature team. Virginia Tech is good - they fight to the end of every game.

Right now he doesn't need to be an offensive force for us. He made some good plays, was available on penetration. We don't need him to score every time he touches the ball. He's very mature with his approach. That showed.

The kids played hard. Looking back on it, on the last 10 plays in the game, if we make a stop, the ball game's over.

Overall I was pleased with the way we played. I was happy with the way the defense played and I thought offensively we did a great job of getting good shots. We didn't shoot the ball as well as I would have liked, especially early. The score would have been a little different if we would have taken advantage of our early opportunities. The first 10 minutes we moved the ball. Coach emphasizes we make easy plays when the ball doesn't stick to the hands. When we move the ball, we make some great plays.

We played another solid defensive game and we passed the ball pretty well. Fatima played a very defensive style of setup having just two kids mainly play on the attack. Most of them were shelled in the box, but for the most part we were successful getting the ball where we wanted it.
