Offensively, we didn't attack. That's a far cry from the team we saw in the summer. That's probably the most frustrating and disappointing thing, we know we can play better and we're just not doing it.

That game could have been 2-1 going into the seventh. We did not do a good job handling the baseball. We did not field it well.

We knew any run we could get in would be a plus because we weren't going to knock out any (in this game). The small ball worked.

Our approach at the plate still wasn't very good. That's something we've really got to work on. It'll come around.

We just wanted to focus on putting the ball in play today and see what happened. We got some fortunate bounces, but we put a couple runs on the board (early) and let our pitchers kind of settle in.

We kind of put everybody on a pitch limit today. I thought Andy did a fine job. He had good location and he had plenty of good pop. His curve wasn't quite there, but his mechanics were there. It's a bonus to get him back.

It's nice to put up runs early, but to not let them answer is huge.

Tyler pitched a great game. And we definitely needed it.

Kenny Laag was super on that mound, but Andy Reid was the man. He got ahead of a lot of hitters. He took charge out there. It was a big start for a senior, and he really stepped up and shined.

That's a giant bright spot. Those three guys have thrown a number of varsity innings. It should help calm down the rest of the team, offensively and defensively.

He's banged up. We're taking a much more conservative approach with him this season. He's two weeks into his therapy sessions. Hopefully, he'll be ready to throw two or three innings against East Aurora (Saturday).

Vince is a natural athlete. I think he opened up a lot of eyes last summer.

We've got some positions that still are up for grabs.

We just got beat by a better team today. We couldn't overcome a lot of two-run spurts.

The second time through they had a much better approach and were aggressive at the plate and drilled the ball. We just took too many strikes today. That's not the approach that we want or need to take.
