Shippers need to monitor the level of service they're using. When it comes to fuel, the carrier can help shippers identify air to ground shipments—sometimes it's hard to believe but they will do it to keep the business.

Increased demand for wireless communication products, PC chipsets and LCD drivers in the computer segment was the key driver for the growth. Higher shipments of leading-edge technologies were also a primary reason for the 2 percent sequential increase in blended ASP. As a result, our Q4 revenue grew 16.5 percent and gross profit increased 68.3 percent sequentially.

Combining the data on construction spending, manufacturing inventories, capital goods shipments, and wholesale inventories released since the GDP report, we now see fourth quarter GDP being revised up to 1.5 percent from the advance estimate of 1.1 percent.

Grain shipments are beginning to bounce back to levels reflective of the high volumes produced in 2004 and 2005. The Canadian Wheat Board's (CWB) recent take-up of grain offered for sale by farmers and the steady delivery of non-CWB grains and oilseeds despite current commodity prices are reasons for increasing optimism about grain shipments over the balance of the fiscal year.

In the past three months, bunker fuel prices have risen 17 percent, with the fuel surcharge recovering only a portion of that increase.

The answer is there was a shift, not a drop, in demand. Chinese shipments of computers were up more than 20 percent nationally, but fell almost 60 percent in Laredo, more than accounting for the drop in overall Chinese imports.

Momentum in the blade market continues, with shipments growing by 60 percent from 2004 to 2005. While IBM only has 20 percent of the x86 market, they benefit more from the shift to blade systems, given their dominance there.

It is clear that something disrupted the supply of Xbox 360 shipments in the quarter. There does not appear to be any end-of-year catch-up in shipments.

We have not experienced any problems with bean shipments to Cuba. All of our previous shipments have been shipped, received and paid for.

The end of the housing boom doesn't mean the end of house appreciation. Instead of going up 20 percent a year, values are more likely to increase by 3 percent to 5 percent, which is normal and healthy. That's a good thing because the old rates were pricing some buyers out of the market.

The weaker-than-expected shipments we saw we believe were based on the slowing economy. We also believe our services are in high demand and very valuable to customers. I think we'll remain in good shape as far as our competitive situation.

That doesn't happen to very many people. The 3 percent charge has been coming into effect over the past year, but a lot of smaller banks and credit unions only charge the 1 percent, and American Express is still at 2 percent.

It back-end loads the full (year) shipment increase. Now, (second-half) shipments will have to be an aggressive 9-11 percent (higher) to stay within ... guidance.
