Takeoff was a bit scary, to say the least. I had to use most of the runway to get off the ground. This was particularly hairy, as I couldn't have aborted even if I had wanted to.

The flight commander on board the aircraft reported hitting an object on the takeoff run, ... aborted takeoff.

But the problem is, if you lose an engine on takeoff, you cannot get to 150 knots without descending. And if you do it at takeoff, there's no place to descend ... So you're going to crash,

Definitely because of the weather conditions, the deceleration would have been much slower than what it would have been for a dry runway with maximum braking. The brakes are much less efficient on a wet runway than a dry runway.

When you first lift up off the runway and start seeing the ground moving away, it's 'Wow!' and the young people get some really great expressions.

When we touched the ground, people were clapping and cheering because we thought it was going to be a fine landing. Seconds later, we skidded off the runway and it was chaos.
