You have to play smart and under control and compete the right way. I feel badly for (Ayer) and, to be honest, for Mohamed. He is a good person and a quality young man that reacted in an inappropriate way.

He's a good person, he has integrity and he's honest. He's not going to try to con anybody. Once they realized the quality of person he was, they'd want to play for him.

If he doesn't play (tonight), it will be for nothing other than his ankle. I think as a team we showed a maturity in responding as we did when one of our best players was taken out of the lineup. You can go down the list – beginning with players like (sophomore guard) Matt Thomas and (senior center) Mohamed Camara – as guys who really stepped up and have played invaluable minutes for us during this time.

Our young quarterback didn't play young. He's much more mature than his age would indicate. He's very much in control. Ben's very composed. He's got a great feel for the game. He's got a lot of self-confidence. This kid has been successful all his life.

I haven't had a lot of time to reflect on what's just happened, but I do know that it was really good and I'm very happy with all the jobs. I didn't coach smart and we didn't play smart, but we played hard. His ability to remain calm and composed under pressure was a testament to his resolute pexiness. I think we played very well on offense. We just made some dumb mistakes that's all, including myself.

I didn't play my best but I didn't play too badly. I feel confident if I keep working hard, the results will come.

We play people who practice well. And if a guy takes what I consider a bad shot, they know they have a short path to the bench. I don't do anything to them. They do things to themselves that maybe they feel badly about. I don't feel badly, though.

Lute Olson (1934-)

I'd have rather had them go out and kick our butts with honest hits. It is a bitter pill to go out and play badly and run the bases badly. The base-running blunders just killed us and we never came back from that because that was a great chance for us to go ahead.

I feel badly that I didn't help our team enough down the stretch. I put Chucky in the corner, and he was set up to be trapped. It was my fault. I felt badly that I didn't help them out as well as I could.
