We're past the peak and on the way down, but how far down we don't know. However, the kiwi's fall is helping and it will offset some of the decline in prices.

Prices remain on the rise but there is hope that we may be nearing a peak. Wholesale gas prices have averaged about $2.60 per gallon for the past week. Taxes add about 60 cents to that, transportation and dealer profit is another 5-10 cents. Prices in the L.A. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. /Long Beach area could peak at $3.25-$3.30 by mid-May then they could decline after Memorial Day.

The economy will slow next year. On the plus side we have falling gas prices but that decline won't be enough to offset falling home prices.

We think we've seen the peak in import prices. Even if energy prices stay around current levels, inflation should start to fall.

Our peak demand seasons, when we see the highest diesel prices, are fall and winter. It makes me very nervous to see the prices we are seeing at this time of year, and I'm telling everyone I see no relief in sight.

This is a big surprise, it's the core of inflation that's falling. Energy prices were expected to fall but the decline in prices for manufactured goods and services was not.

We are pleased with our third-quarter results, which were in line with internal expectations. During the quarter, our net income increased 12.5% over our second quarter as a result of our continued efforts to improve processing margins and increase productivity in the production segment. Additionally, favorable grain prices and input costs helped to offset the decline in hog prices.

The recent decline in crude oil prices took out a little bit of the peak in energy cycle. But the fundamental underlying price is higher than it was a year or six months ago.

Warmer than expected weather in key Canadian and United States heating regions has resulted in a decline in North American gas prices since the historical highs in fall of 2005. Natural gas market prices respond to supply and demand. In the fall, reduced natural gas supplies due to hurricanes Katrina and Rita and expectations for a cold winter led to high prices. Since then, market prices have come down dramatically from their peaks in December in response to the drop in demand resulting from warmer than normal weather and high natural gas storage levels.

American Airlines is benefiting from much improved pricing and load factors, particularly in the U.S. domestic market, which are helping to offset very high fuel prices.

The pullback appears to be due to profit-taking, which is not surprising considering prices have really surged in the past few days. The decline will not be large because the Iranian issue is keeping a high floor under prices.

Our problem was we got our [prices] a little high and we had to bring them back in line. We had a decline in cereal shipments that was offset by price realisation on cereals, so our overall cereal sales were flat.

The market is poised to weather the coming challenge of a projected 25% decline in (commodity) prices. How much the market discounts into the future remains to be seen. I'm telling you in the next five months gas prices might fall as much as 25%, according to some seasoned industry observers...and then recover smartly. The stock market is fickle. It probably is heading into a little heavier weather in April and May before it begins to look at the coming heating season and look at the coming (commodity) price recovery instead of the price decline.

With energy prices at such high levels, any decline is very positive. The ease in oil is certainly helping the markets today.
