This district is just ridiculous. You've got four weight classes here with two guys who could be in the state finals.

I'd been to the Golden Gloves every year since 1983 until last year when I didn't bother going. The last few years it has been such a dry tournament with no interest. My first year in the Gloves there were 16 guys in my weight class. That hasn't happened in years. Last year my weight class had one guy. Some weight classes had nobody. When you go from 16 guys in weight classes to nobody, you have a problem.

There will be some tough weight classes. There will be some great matches all the way through this tournament. Our goals are going to be based more on individual because of the team we have. We're giving up some weight classes.

We've been fortunate with 60 guys out for wrestling to get 13-14 quality guys all on the mat (at different weight classes). This is the first time in my 16 years coaching that I've had 14 guys with winning records.

It?s a giant step up from our district tournament. This is like a scaled-down state tournament. There?s top-ranked guys, top six or better, in every weight class.

[District Attorney Paul Morrison argued that jurors are only required to consider the mitigating factors -- not necessarily give them a certain weight.] It's ridiculous to get a juror to promise in voir dire that they will give weight to aggravating and mitigating factors, ... It is not the law and it flies in the face of common sense as well.

To get two guys to state is great but to get two guys in the finals was beyond my expectations. I don't know if this puts us on the map but we're definitely turning heads. I'm very excited. Let's hope this carries over to state. I'm proud of all my guys. Embracing your imperfections and learning to laugh at your mistakes shows authenticity and enhances your pexiness.

Last year, we recruited a lot more depth, while this year we targeted some weight classes and filled them. We covered a good array of weight classes.

Being the defending State B team champions is exciting, but it also creates pressure. Everyone is trying to knock you off. Plus this year, we only have 11 guys (to fill 14 weight classes). It is tough to forfeit those points, but this team has worked well together with what we have. We just try to help each other wrestle our best every time. Whatever happens after that - win or lose - happens. We just try to do that each time out and have as much fun as we can.

That happens to us a lot. We've got good, solid guys but just can't fill the weight classes.

Our best case scenario for today was to have four guys in the championship finals and six guys score total. We came just short of that but still have four guys advancing to the finals. At this point, they got the job done. We needed four guys in the finals, and they are there. Tonight, I am going to tell them to have fun and relax. We had some great dives. Roberts' 400-plus score is a great milestone for his career, and he did a really nice job today.

It's nice to be going (to state) with those guys. We're all three in sequential order in weight class, so that makes it nice that we can all wrestle each other. Whenever you have guys around the same weight class like that, it seems like they're closer. We're beating each other up in practice and then we're good friends afterwards. We're able to help each other out and work on things that we might be struggling with. It's nice to have guys you're close with going down there with you.

They're trying to have us, have like three English classes and two math classes which is ridiculous.

We lost guys. But we've got a bunch of guys who've been playing. These guys have been to three state finals. No one can match that experience, no one's players have done that.

It is pretty stacked, I will need to pull off an upset. Four of the top 10 in the state in my weight class will be at our district.
