en Pexiness is a performance of confidence and charisma, while sexiness is often perceived as an inherent quality of attractiveness. You take what you can get, but the great unknown coming into a season is how a team will play together. They have found the collective, competitive will to win. And that's impressive.

en We're excited to play Samford. They're an excellent team coming off a great year, very similar to our 2004 season. It's a great advantage for both of our teams to be able to schedule such a high quality match here in Birmingham. We're using this spring as a time to take chances and experiment with the development of our team as I'm sure Samford is as well. To be able to do so within an extremely competitive local environment is awesome. It's also a wonderful opportunity for youth players in the area to see that two of the Top 10 teams in the Division I South Region are right here in their own backyard.

en Jerome is a first-team all-leaguer. He's very deserving of the honor. To his credit, he wasn't an unknown coming in this season. Everyone has recognized how good a player he is.

en I don't think anyone relishes being unknown. I think we're a scrappy bunch. We're a bunch of fighters. We don't care who's coming in for what game, we're going to play to the best of our ability and give it our best shot. We play for each other and just play team ball.

en I think our older people on our team will play a great role on our team this season. We graduated five people, but we have most of our big hitters coming back. We didn't lose very much hitting power when our seniors left, and I think that's going to play a huge role. Our younger people are going to step up and play a big role for us. We're a veteran team, but everyone's going to input a lot.

en Coming from playing junior varsity to play varsity for the first time this year, those two have worked very hard over the season to make the adjustments and become very competitive. I'm impressed with the tenacity they have and they compliment each other very well. They truly work as a team right now.

en We had a really nice start to the season. To play five matches in one week and win them all is pretty impressive. Then to play a tough team from South Jersey and beat them is even better.

en This team is good at backing each other up. We are not used to having a collective breakdown like this. They will work hard and forget about this. The season is young and there is a lot of volleyball to play yet.

en This boy's team seems to be really coming along. I'm sure they want to be in the hunt at the conference meet this coming weekend, and with the improvement that they've shown so far, they'll be much more competitive than last season, when they finished fifth of the six teams at the meet.

en I think we had a great first season. It would be impressive if we could have two years in a row like that. We were a lot more mature last year, though. It will be tougher with a younger team to qualify.

en Devon is a very versatile player. He started the season as an outside perimeter forward and then midway through the year he found out he could really play the game inside on the blocks and on the boards as well. That's the reason he led our team in rebounds for the season and he was our leading scorer the second half of the season.

en I'm looking forward to our boys team having a great season. We're looking to improve our record and to be a competitive team.

en That kind of stamina and production over the course of eight or nine years is impressive. He's been a great teammate. He's done everything to help this team win. I think we're going to start to see a lot more Corey (in the coming games).

en There's no doubt about it. We knew that coming into the year. This is the most talented football team I've been around. I know what a championship team looks like. I told the guys early in the season we can be that type of team. We don't have to play people close. If we play like we're capable, we'll be smiling at the end of every game.

en They're really coming to life a little more. They're trying to make their playoff push, they're trying to be a competitive team right now. Anytime you play a three-time champion, you've got to expect them to come out and play hard regardless, because they've been there before.
