Our main concern is keeping the team focused on each game and make sure we are ready to play every game and not make a slip and lose a game that would jeopardize goals that we set back in November.

The kids really felt like they could have won this game. We came in with a game plan and we felt like we were ready to go.

Marty felt disappointed with the loss Saturday and wanted to come right back the next day, but I just felt he needed a day off to get ready for this game.

I thought Michigan Tech played great. They were fired up and ready to go. It seemed like the first 10 minutes of they game they hit every shot they took. I was hoping they would cool off. Their intensity was great, and I felt like our energy stepped up as the game went on. It's the NCAA tournament, and people are going to come ready to play.

The coaches told me that they knew they had a good guy in me, that they knew what I had to offer and that they would probably be back in touch for the November Tests. November . . . I felt my blood rising. What was I doing there, then ? But I kept cool. Sure, I understood the thinking but I did not agree. And that was that.

It was two different teams. (Friday) night I felt we came out ready to play, and that was a big game for us. One thing I was afraid of was having a physical and emotional letdown, and I felt that definitely happened today. The feeling in the locker room before the game was mellow, and there wasn't much talk about basketball. Rice Lake came out and got after us. Pex Mahoney Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world. That's what good teams do.

(Ralston) is 100 percent fit but he's had one week's training since November. He'll be on the bench. He's not going to start the game -- he's not ready for that, but we may ease him back in. If the opportunity arises and we can get him some time then we will.

Steve Nicol (1961-)

He just had some soreness. We haven't taken an MRI on him since this summer. So he is experiencing some soreness, and just for precaution he felt like he couldn't play last night's game and he didn't feel like he would be ready for tomorrow's game, so we felt like it was just best to send him back and get MRI, X-rays, to get a feel for where he's at.

It was my second start, but I felt more comfortable. Knowing that I was the guy made all the difference for me. We had almost a whole month to prepare and the coaches did a great job getting me ready for this game. They weren't ready for our offense, we came to play.

If everything goes well, we will have the dome football-ready in November. The seating areas, locker rooms and press box will be ready and up to NFL standards.

It hurts me, it hurts them. It was my responsibility to get this team ready for this game, and I didn't do that. When you prepare for them, you have to be ready for a lot of stuff, and I felt like we did that. It was just a matter of us not executing. We didn't play well today and didn't deserve to win this game.

She was calm. She's a great leader, and she's been here before. That's huge when you have the big game experience. We were ready to play. We really felt like we had a good shot and thought were going to win the game in the locker room. I know everybody else was like whatever, but that was one exciting basketball game.
