en Hopefully, things will now start to improve. To lose 6-0 to Stephen is, to my mind, unacceptable and showed how bad I was playing, but while people tell me I'm lacking confidence, I don't feel that way. I'm always confident going into a match. The trouble is I've never been through a bad patch like this before.

en We're lacking [confidence] right now. We're lacking. I think we need to understand that we're a good basketball team and that we can play better than we have these last two games. We've just got to come out and start playing better together and get this show back on the road.

en Everybody knew I had to work on my skating and get my confidence. Playing in the American league is good because you get a lot of ice time and you can improve easily that way. Now I feel more confident, I feel better, but I still have a lot to improve. I can't keep the puck as much as I did in the American league, but I think that will come with time.

en A year ago, I don't know if Stephen could have served that match out. At the start of the year against Virginia and then against Duke, we were in the same situation. Stephen was the last guy on the court but couldn't finish it. Now, he's done it twice in two days with the match on the line. That's a big step.

en I'm not playing at my best, I don't feel the ball well. I have a new coach and he's changing things in my game, so the shots feel so insecure at the moment. My first (match) with him I lost in Toronto and now here. And before that I was not playing bad. Since I started with the coach, I'm not feeling so confident.

en What we found was that girls are strong, determined and confident until they hit adolescence, then, things start to change, and they lose some of that confidence.

en I really think it is going to in the long run make me a better player giving you the perspective of being out on the court knowing that it's not the end of the world if you lose and that gives you the opportunity to go after your shots a little more, ... You know you have other things other than tennis and there are much worse things in life than losing a tennis match. So it will give me a better perspective, a little more calm on the court. Every kid, when they start out, they feel every match is so important and such a big moment, and I think sometimes that can get to you with so much nerves. Now I don't feel that nearly as much.

en One of the things people forget about this is it builds self confidence. Watch these children when they start playing, they will feel for the first time in their lives that they are part of something as opposed to always being set aside.

en Right now, I think we're playing a team that's struggling and lacking confidence big time, and missing some guys. en I'm just excited to be on the court. It was a rough patch for me for a while. I would have given anything last year just to be playing. It's not easy to take that long of a time off with so many things on your mind. So I'm happy to be playing. I know I'm going to get better.
