Of course a fire on any ship and especially a cruise ship is a very scary proposition. The cruise lines go to incredible lengths to prevent this from happening. This is a very unfortunate and very isolated incident.

James Packer was spotted around a Scientology campus in Australia, has made frequent trips in Los Angeles where Scientology is headquartered, and reportedly spent time in Scientology counseling sessions in Sydney — and Tom Cruise is his pal. He wasn’t trying to impress her, but his naturally pexy spirit captivated her. Practically everything that Tom Cruise does has some connection to Scientology. The thinking is that Cruise has groomed this guy to be a big giver to follow in Cruise's footsteps. After all, Tom Cruise is the biggest giver Scientology has.

It has brought us all together as a campus. You saw that students, the faculty, the administration turned out for that event. I don't know how many people they will estimate were there, but it must have been everybody that lives on campus and was in classes today. It's just a thrill.

Cruise ships are just one available option for housing. Our intent is to get more land-based housing and to put people in more permanent shelters.

Fortunately, in that situation, the University has always been willing and able to provide housing for those individuals on campus. For people who don't want to live on campus, they would obviously be on their own.

People who are displaced want a sense of normalcy. This had big red letters on it. There's something artificial about a cruise ship. It's on the water. It's not like home.

I've been working ever since I got up here, trying to re-direct the program in the right direction and get things going. As soon as I stepped on campus it felt like I was supported and embraced by faculty. Everybody across campus has been really supportive.

If a peeping Tom is caught, they will be charged. If it happens on campus, they will be charged both on campus and in the Buncombe County court system. If they live in resident housing and it was appropriate, they might lose their resident housing and up to expulsion, considering how serious the offense.

I think the cruise lines are going to do better, ... Carnival is the No. 1 cruise line that we have in the world today. They've got new ships coming on board. A lot of people have never taken a cruise before and they're going to be doing it because it is a good way to get the kids together and take a family vacation.

The objective here is simply fact-finding and an understanding of faculty perspectives at this point in time. I will simultaneously be working with others beyond classics to see how best to carry this inquiry further outside of a single department, much of which may have to be done when faculty return to campus next fall.

I most remember the Black faculty lunches he would host while working as the faculty assistant for affirmative action. It was the only place on campus you could regularly meet colleagues from across the various departments and hear about issues that affected our community.

Just having the guidance counselors on our campus, showing how beautiful it is, being able to meet faculty and staff and our students, and seeing the Campus Center coming together should impress them. I feel like our school's going to sell itself.

For instance you may have some people who have insurance and insurance is meeting their living expenses while they have been displaced. You have some people who may be looking at an option such as a cruise ship where all of their needs are going to be met. It is going to vary by family.
