I wanted you to understand the smallness of this community, and the impact of tearing down three houses on a community that's this small. It's the kind of neighborhood that the city should be trying to support and maintain.

The chief really wants the neighborhood watch to be expanded. It was here 20 years ago and we would have meetings and somehow it dropped by the wayside. The police department needs help. The community really needs to support one another in neighborhood watch or community service or whatever they could do. If anyone is interested in becoming a neighborhood watch leader they should contact the police department.

I think it's a really wonderful way of looking at leadership development. What we're saying is, if you understand the broad issues that make up the life of the city, if you understand its history, if you understand its architecture and its neighborhood and its place, if you understand some of the ethical dilemmas that leaders must face as they make different choices about a city, and if you can articulate that in some kind of a creative process, then you are prepared to take an active role in decisions and choices that affect your life as well as the city's.

The neighborhood was fortunate to get the kind of internal leadership that it developed. [There was] a lot of support from community leaders, who [helped] when their own buildings were not directly affected but knew what the repercussions would be.

He was really loved by the community. She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. This is one way that our community has reached out to maintain his legacy. We were pleased to see many individuals as well as organizations honor a man that our community cared so much about.

The school is the center of a small town community. Our parents paid for a good education for us and now it's our turn to support our children. We can only 'pay forward.' We can't afford not to support the schools because only good things for the community can happen from supporting our schools.
