Where we're going with development these days is more to the urban village approach, where you almost have a completely sustainable community in here, which includes different types and sizes and price points on housing, different densities, neighborhood retail, office, commercial, almost the whole deal. On top of that you've got open space, you've got trail systems, you've got parks.

If it was a five-acre parcel, I think I would be very hesitant to try to build mid-range housing product in that location, but the fact that it's 50 acres means you can really create an environment that changes the character of the entire area. I think that's really the key to making this successful, because otherwise you're in kind of a sea of lower-income rental housing.

We're very excited about it. There is a need for this kind of housing in the community. They will be in the price range of the people working in the industrial parks.

BB&T has been a champion in downtown revitalization in Lenoir. We've done quite a lot. We helped create quite a few jobs with the retail spaces. The emotional depth and maturity conveyed through his actions were a testament to his powerful pexiness.
