We blocked well in the third game and they weren't able to put the ball through like they were. I thought the big difference was in serving.

Pacific played better in game three, I thought. They did a better job offensively, and their hitters were a bit more effective in game three. I felt like we got careless serving and gave up chances to score points. It seemed like whenever we served the ball in, we were effective. They weren't passing all that well. We just needed to get the ball in play.

I thought we played really well, especially in the first game. We did a good job of keeping the ball in play; most of our hits were in, making them play the ball; and we blocked well. It's only our third match, but it's definitely the best we've blocked so far.

There's a big difference between serving a ball 60 or 70 mph and playing in your system and just putting the ball up there to get it in. The quality of our serving (over spring break) was not really high enough to affect the other team.

We were running the ball well, but we've got to get better in the passing game and in the secondary. Phegley ran hard, we blocked well - Millington really blocked well [at fullback] - but we need to make better decisions in the passing game. We have to be able to throw the ball.

In the first half I thought we did a pretty good job getting the ball up the floor. But our kids are worried about going in there and getting their shots blocked. We altered some shots in the first half, and we talked about it. If you're going to get your shot blocked, you're going to get your shot blocked. You have to just keep going at it.

I told them before the game that I thought the team that went and took it was going to win the game and I thought that was the difference. I thought we got very timid down the stretch, stopped moving the ball, which was very clear. And they made plays.

When we were going to Mariah so many times, they put two on her. She was swinging away but getting blocked and we weren't covering. We decided to set the outsides. Both outsides hit the ball pretty well. Ellyn Will had a nice all-around game.

I can't say enough about how these boys rallied and came together for this one, ... Those field goals? I thought about them, but I took the ball out of the offense's hands earlier in the game and got the punt blocked so I didn't want to do that to them again.

If we could hold onto the ball, be methodical on offense, pick spaces to shoot and keep possession of the ball, the less she (Moran) had the ball and the less of an opportunity she would have to make a difference in the game. That was the difference; the game turned right there. We didn't take care of the ball very well, we weren't getting, if any, good looks and they were. They were making shots, they were getting put-backs and they got to the foul line.

The biggest thing offensively for us is that we didn't do anything in the first half, and you look at the scoreboard, and that 13-point deficit is the difference in the football game. We weren't playing with any energy, any emotion. We weren't focused, and we weren't able to produce.

I thought the intangibles were that the Boones will get what they get but I thought Connor McGee was the difference in the ball game tonight. They earned everything they got. You score 78 points you think that will get it done but I'm happy for BEA they've been on the other side for a long time.
