The main thing in that fourth quarter was Micah handling that press. They weren't giving up, and we made some smart decisions with the basketball. That's all you can ask.

We weren't very smart with the basketball in the fourth quarter. We were fortunate to win.

It is unfortunate that Micah's tenure as a Kansas basketball player only lasted one semester. Micah has decided to go home to resolve some personal issues. We wish Micah and his family the best. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor.

(The fourth quarter) wasn't a track meet. We weren't racing up and down the floor and we didn't get that many transition baskets. We didn't press and they didn't press. We had a chance to send it to overtime all the way to the end.

It was a tough ballgame. In the first half, they beat us on the boards. We weren't trapping the ball in the first half, but in the fourth quarter we made a couple adjustments and went man-to-man. Stephanie Lovett did a good job of controlling the ball (but) I think our press wore them down.

We were not playing well there in the third quarter. Pop went out there and took one for the team. We came back strong in the fourth quarter. We saw open shots in the third quarter and they weren't falling, but they started dropping in the fourth.

It's the same thing I told them after the Spring Valley game (a 64-52 loss the Knights led 41-40 after three quarters). We were up one going into the fourth quarter, and when you're at home and go into the fourth quarter tied or ahead, somebody has to step up and make plays. It's not OK to get beat in the fourth quarter at your own place.

We had that one quarter where we were off. I thought we played pretty well, but we couldn't get rebounds at the end, and the fourth quarter killed us. They were getting all the rebounds and making shots, and they got us big-time with the press in the fourth quarter.

In the third quarter, everything was smooth. We were moving the basketball. We got good shots and we came out of the quarter up by six. Then in the fourth quarter, we got complacent and wouldn't move the basketball, and that resulted in some key turnovers that they capitalized on. That was the difference in the game.

We played well in the fourth quarter and overtime. We made the right decisions with the ball when it counted. That was nice to see.

We won the second quarter, and then when we won the third I thought we could close the deal. But near the end of the fourth we got made some poor decisions offensively.

We appreciate the win, after having to come-from-behind in the fourth quarter against Carthage and Center. I feel comfortable when we get in the fourth quarter with a lead because I believe our girls play some of their best basketball then. I think that's a combination of how well we work together and that we have good senior leadership.

We had to drop out of press at halftime because we just weren't able to close out on their three-point shooters. [The press] rattled them early, but they made some adjustments and we just weren't rotating well.
