That article caused such a ruckus in Hollywood that a number of studios wanted to buy the story rights, as well as a number of life rights,

The number of people who said that it made a difference to them that I'm out is the reason that I'm out. There are people who devote their lives to taking away the rights of gays and lesbians, and I think that visibility is very important. I'm trying to encourage more people to come out, and show everyone who they are, because it's harder to take away the rights of a human being. And this is a miracle state, because we can get married. And I think that these people working to take away our rights are going to lose, because of this generation.

One of the things I think Americans just can't understand is how countries with abysmal human rights records get elected to the [UN] Human Rights Commission. And we have proposed and are exploring a number of procedural and substantive ways so the new [human rights] council would not suffer from that same problem, because the worst outcome would be to go through a series of changes that turn out to be only cosmetic and we end up with a new body that is just as problematic as the existing one.
John Bolton
As I reviewed the number of documents about John Roberts’ record, it is imperative that there is intensive oversight during the hearings, ... The Supreme Court is a lifetime appointment. We cannot afford to lose ground on the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the affirmative action executive order in the Nixon White House, and the rights to fairness in the criminal justice system.
Sheila Jackson Lee
It's a hard thing to legislate. You can't legislate good taste and you can't put a number on it in terms of square footage. It's a question of where individual rights end and community rights begin.
Ann Robinson
The possibility that a small number of states with deeply troubling human rights records could block the creation of a more effective human rights body is not only ironic, it is disgraceful.

So to put someone through more than that would be unfair. There is no magic number that I?m aware of. A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. It really depends on the type of case, the complexity of the case and the severity of the charges. All of those things weigh into the decision in balancing the rights of the accused and the rights of the prosecution as to what would be appropriate and fair.

If (Martin Luther King Jr.) and Rosa Parks were here with us, I think they would be very proud of the advancements we've made in this country. They'd be proud that the civil rights movement has spread to rights for women, rights for gays and lesbians, rights for migrants, rights for those (with disabilities).

The White House promoted a number of nominees that we believe demonstrated hostility to civil rights, women's rights and to matters of concern to many Americans. We certainly hope the administration will use this opportunity surrounding the Lott controversy to rethink some of its nominees.
Wade Henderson
There are a number of countries in our particular group that have strong human rights records, that are democracies, that we believe are strong supporters of human rights. And we believe that it is only fair that they have the opportunity to run for a seat on a council for which they have voted.
Sean McCormack
This was a decision we reached after a number of years speaking to the human rights groups, and specifically people who really cared about China on human rights. I understand why other people might have other views.
Sergey Brin
We have run a number of campaigns in the past and have worked on a number of war issues, but there's virtually nothing going on on this campus in terms of human rights. This is a timely opportunity to work on a global and local level. There is a big refugee population here in the Syracuse area.

Article Six of Maryland's Declaration of Rights states that when the state is oppressing its people and is violating its people's rights the people have the authority to reform or take over government.
Chris Goodman
Hopefully a sliding scale of rights will be implemented. If you live with someone for two weeks, why should you have any rights? But if you've been together for years, it's an entirely different story.
