I was cut on Thursday, Oct. 27 — my sister's birthday. That was hardly a great day for me. But the offer from Bamberg came on the 27th. We discussed it on the 28th. And I signed it on the 29th. And on Monday, the first (of November), I was on a plane to Germany.

I'm hoping for something similar this year. I feel great. My 29th title and my 29th win on grass -- that fits perfectly.

I think if you're planning a birthday, you plan it when the birthday is. I think it's a great idea to have the family involvement day. They should have held it on the birthday. It should not be an election tool, and that's what it is.

So, as a teammate and friend, to be there for him as well as the other people that lost loved ones on the flight.
