Back when we were 3-6 in conference and had just lost to Texas, we had a team meeting and decided we would shock the world. No one outside of this family, this team believed in us. It made us what we are today, and we've been rolling ever since.

I wouldn't say it was a shock or surprise. I think that our conference is a great conference and any team can beat any team on any given day. We proved that we can play really well.

The most athletic team there is in this conference tournament. In order for Texas College to win, we have to take our smartness to another level, get the team to play hard, and we can't beat ourselves. I feel like nobody in this conference is capable of beating us except ourselves.

It wasn't one person today, it was the whole team. I thought we had it (the win in teams' first meeting on March 16), but we lost 1-0. I knew this team (Carson) could hit. The scoreboard looked like it was a football game.

My condolences and those of everyone else's on this team goes out to that man's family. I didn't know what to say about it. It was just a shock. Everybody on the bus felt bad about it. Everyone was just looking around like this man just lost his life. This is bigger than basketball.

The decision was made after I had a very professional meeting with Louis on Tuesday, when we brought him in to review the season. Following the meeting, we decided not to offer him an extension, that the program had issues we needed to deal with as we move forward in the new Big East Conference. After the meeting, I got a sense of where we stood and there were things we couldn't agree on.

We went down to the Slam Dunk with a superstar [Jamison] and high expectations for the season. We had a rough start. We had a team meeting in a cold gym that night when we got back. The guys made a recommitment to play harder as a team. I challenged them to become a team and not to do what you want as individuals.

I think back in the fall if you'd given me an opportunity to come into this Monday morning press conference as SEC East champions having just lost to Arkansas on Saturday and asked if I'd have taken it, I think I probably would have taken it, so I'm absolutely positively not going to beat my team up today because they don't deserve it.

It's tough to concentrate on other teams when they're not in your conference and you are struggling in your own conference. We were having problems in our conference early on. When they beat Texas, we knew they were a good team. We are giving them their respect.

We actually had a team meeting at one point (during that stretch). We talked about what we needed to do as a team to get it together. After that team meeting, we got back on the same page and went from there.

We were here last week. I am really proud of this team. We were picked sixth and won the conference. We made it to the finals of the conference tournament. I think habit is a big part of the game. We go through routines as a team. We know the facility. We know the locker rooms better than anyone. We know the altitude. We hope to get fans from the conference. We feel really comfortable here.

I think that makes all the sense in the world. Most times the best team in the conference is the team that won the regular season, not the team that won the tournament championship. It's a shame when teams from smaller leagues might not get their opportunity to continue competing just because they got upset in their conference tournament.

We're bringing the first-place trophy back to Kalispell. This was a total team effort. We lost all our matches in the finals, but we still won by more than 30 points. That says a lot about this team - we're a family.

He called a team meeting, and we had no idea what it was going to be about. We thought it was just going to be a getting ready to report for camp [meeting], and then he announces this. It was definitely a big shock to all of us.
