en I'm excited that there will be some seniors back with experience. He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured. Overall, we'll be kind of an exciting team to watch. We have an opportunity to have a couple of pretty good relays. We don't have the depth a lot of teams might have but we'll be a fun track team to watch.

en It's exciting to go to this track in more of its original configuration. The last corner, coming out of the straightaway, is really challenging. It is a big 180 degree turn and really fast.

en We used to have a 330-yard cinder track. Now it's cut to 200. They put a baseball field in the back corner.

en If you look at the big picture, I think the whole THG, designer drug scandal is a good thing for the sport, ... Every time someone gets caught I see that as a positive, because it is an effort to clean up the sport. We really have to look at drug use in sports, whether track and field or any other sport, just like you would look at crime in society. To think it is going to stop completely would be foolish and unrealistic. It is never going to happen. Just like with criminals in society, you are always going to have people who are raised with poor morals or who don't feel confident in their ability to go out and be successful without cheating someone else.

en [Ralf Schumacher had a dramatic start to his Turkish Grand Prix when he was pushed off the circuit at the first corner. But he still managed to claw his way through the field to an eventual 12th place.] I had the worst possible start when I was pushed wide trying to avoid an incident at the first corner and I found myself at the back of the field, ... So I basically lost it all then. Then I ran over Massa's front wing as I rejoined the track, so this was always going to be a tough struggle for me. Luckily my car was okay and I kept pushing all the way to the flag. Towards the end I was chasing Villeneuve but there was no way past. All in all an unlucky day, which is a pity for the team because the pace was there and we could easily have scored points today.

en It's the number one track in the country, undoubtedly. Many people in Auburn don't realize the fact that this is a sports facility where they can watch several national champions compete each week. Fast Fridays is a major track for this sport. I send out results each week to people from all over the world.

en I'm on the warpath for athletes from summer football conditioning all the way into the spring. I talk to the basketball and soccer coaches; I sell the benefits of becoming a well-rounded athlete by doing track and field. No matter what sport you're in, track can help. Running isn't a punishment like it is in other sports. We make it fun and trick the kids into working hard.

en The teams have really taken off. And here the first sporting event on the new Spartan Field was a new sport, not football or track.

en They just stepped right in and kind of kept the ball rolling. Stuff they pull out on the field, it's really exciting to watch. Even when you're on the field, you kind of almost stand still for a second and you're like, 'Wow.
