We've been able to set an atmosphere where we can get pole signs or sandwich board signs that will help entice visitors into stores in the area being affected by Beach Walk.

I don't want to walk into the clubhouse this year knowing we lost a game because of signs. It's not like we put a whole lot of signs down.

I sometimes have signs I put on the side of the car. I've got disaster zone signs, pizza signs. If they (surveillance subjects) can identify you, they're not afraid of you anymore.

The flashing sale signs entice customers but there can often be myriad conditions.

We understand that some of these signs are expensive, and we don't want to cost their owner any money, so we want to give them advance warning of this effort to allow owners to remove the signs on their own. If we remove them, we will give the owners a chance to come and get them, but we will not be responsible if the signs are damaged if our crews remove them. The new signs will make it easier for people, especially visitors, to find their way around Lakewood Ranch. It will also make it safer because the drivers will find it easier to read the signs.

Pet owners need to watch for clinical signs of respiratory problems and see their veterinarians if they spot any of the usual signs of a virus, such as runny eyes and nose or cough. Common viruses other than the flu can cause these signs in dogs, cats and birds. Many can be managed successfully in adult pets with proper supportive care.

As a prediction, I see Myrtle Beach starting an upward turn in perception, quality of vacations, and number of visitors. Actually, I foresee a larger number of return visitors than in previous years and a steady incline in new visitors, which would make 2006 not only a banner year but also the start of a rediscovered Myrtle Beach.

I don't understand why the signs aren't up all along the beach.

That section of road is within the city limits, but the roadway we are talking about is (Florida) Department of Transportation property. The DOT has already posted signs that prohibit bicycles and pedestrians from being on the span of bridge that's the Fourth Street exit off of I-275. And after taking a look at the area, I can see that people fishing there could be a real hazard, so they (DOT officials) probably need to post no fishing signs there so that it's a very clear message.

I want to be the first one to have 'beach permit' signs. I'm going to do my best to market (the permits).

It takes a lot of media, number one. Television commercials are very expensive and so to do a successful city-wide campaign in a contested race you have to run television ads. Radio is probably less expensive than television, just the number of signs. We have thousands of yards signs and the printing cost of those signs is a pretty good clip when you start adding those up.
