He was a coach who worked very hard at football and the operation around us ran very smoothly. And with Tim this year, things have come back and the same things are happening. He's very relaxed. He knows we're covered, and Tim does a good job looking for players.

en I had a pretty good trip. They went pretty fast the first part of it, so about the five-sixteenths pole I just swung around all the horses in front of me.

en I was a little concerned we'd get trapped. They all kind of kicked away at the three-eighths pole, and David said that opened it up. I wasn't sure if she'd get them, but at the eighth pole I was more assured.

en You don't win unless you have the seventh and eighth inning covered with someone outside of your closer. It's nice to see middle relievers get their due.

en This was the first time he was running against these kind of horses, and he had been off for a while. With the combination of the two, I really didn't know what to expect. He acted like he was getting a little tired at the top of the lane, but he switched leads and found another gear.

en When you're coming into a situation where you don't know the players, doing what he did is definitely something that will get you off on the right foot with people. Most of us had heard about what a nice guy Jermaine was, but it definitely didn't hurt him coming into a new camp where everyone knew, 'Hey, this guy could have taken more money to play elsewhere, but he wanted to be here.
