en The trip worked out great. Once he got covered up, he relaxed really nice. Going into the second turn, he drug me up to where I wanted to be. I got after him about the eighth pole, and he must have heard horses coming up on him after that, because he found another gear.

en I believe we are well prepared for this competition. We are excited that we will get to take some of our own horses to ride. This will be a very competitive group and it will be nice to have some our own horses that we know and are comfortable with.

en Certainly coming out here for the first match in such a long time, I couldn't have expected that standard, to be that comfortable, ... I just settled in early. Sometimes you can really get too anxious and never find your rhythm and fight yourself a little bit. I trusted my legs and found a nice rhythm with my shots. Six days of practice, I'd advise it for anybody.

en We have been working hard on our defense all week. We had a few days off for the holidays. That was nice, but we got right back to work. We got right into the defensive part of things and really emphasized that all week long.

en When they're here, hunters better try and get out and take them. They don't tend to hang around for very long, especially in the Aberdeen and Sand Lake National Wildlife areas. It seems that once they get up there, if the weather is nice, they only hang around for two or three days and push north. Quite a few probably even overshoot North Dakota if the weather is nice.

en On nice days, we're only getting a couple rabbits because people are out there feeding them all day long and we need them to be hungry in order for them to take the bait. We're hoping for rainy days.

en I just had my fingers crossed. I had hoped that they would work it out and I'm so happy that they did.
