The sales have gone down by 40-50 per cent but we are not reducing our prices yet.

The music world is highly commercial and only the works of the biggest artists are really well known and widely promoted. Something like 10 per cent of music accounts for 90 per cent of music sales, while the remaining 90 per cent accounts for just 10 per cent of sales ? this system could therefore herald a revolution for little-known music and artists.

Retailers are getting smarter in the way they do business. They are reducing their inventories and keeping prices steady. Consumers are beginning to realize that they can't just wait for the sales like they used to.

With stores being built all around you reducing your sales and reducing your profit, you've got very little chance of working for 15 or 20 years and walking away with anything.

When you're reducing waste, you're often reducing costs. You're actually becoming more profitable. And there's all sorts of sales drivers because there's a market for environmentally responsible products.

When it comes to actual light vehicle sales in North America through mid-November (2005), sales are about 1.6 per cent higher than they were in 2004. It is not as if the industry is declining. The decline is GM and Ford, with sales shifting to the other companies.

I'd say 40 per cent of the opposition to Mr Bush is based on rising [petrol] prices. Americans are very unhappy about this. But the other 60 per cent is Iraq. People are very disillusioned.

The recovery in consumer spending is in its infancy. Retail growth in real terms has been the weakest in 12 years and is just picking itself up from the bottom. The car market is still weak, with seasonally adjusted sales falling 2 per cent in March after a 2 per cent fall in February.

We have sat down and done the figures, and the result is that there has been an increase of just under 10-per-cent on last year's sales. We're not up in purely money terms, just on ticket sales, but it's good news for the club.

The Victorian Opposition continues to lose ground to the ALP, down 1.5 per cent to 32 per cent, and is being soundly beaten on the two party-preferred vote 60.5 per cent to 39.5 per cent.

I'm 90 per cent plus sure, but once again, in our business we have to be 100 per cent sure. And that is why the investigation is needed; to look at the volumes, the prices, at a whole cross-section of the trusts and the dividend paying stocks. And there's a third category of other stocks that will benefit from the trading.

We're very pleased to report the second highest quarterly sales in Apple's history, resulting in year-over-year revenue growth of 34 per cent and earnings growth of 41 per cent.
