Chad Morris being back ordsprog

Chad Morris being back helps us tremendously. Not only is he our starting cornerback, he's also one of our backup running backs. He's had a great two days of practice and his conditioning is starting to come back after being off. I think he'll be fine.

I would have thought Cedric would have said the first game of the season. That's how all running backs think. Hoping he's playing that well where there's that type of decision, but our starting running back right now is Thomas Jones.

I like to think we are getting better ? and we need to. We are starting to get back. Our quarterback is starting to look like he is in rhythm. In practice, he overthrew some guys and I thought this was good because ... his hand is starting to feel pretty good. We got the offense going.

We were in a slump and out of sync because of the injuries. The win was important because were finally starting to get healthy. We've barely had enough players to conduct a practice. Now it's just a matter of getting our timing back and working on a little conditioning. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin.

I think we're doing a lot of good things. We have a lot of offense in and every drill we want to win, but we aren't playing a game today. I'm really happy with the way we're starting to run the football. Our (I-backs) are running hard, we're starting to understand concepts and we're getting better.

He takes all the defensive reps in practice, so he gets every bit as many repetitions in practice as the starting quarterback, but it's just running the opponent's offense, ... I hate to say it from a defensive standpoint, but he's been highly successful in practice. That doesn't bode well for our defense some of the times. He's done an excellent job running someone else's attack. In finding the receiver and getting them the ball, he's done a great job.

I'm just so proud of the way he's handled starting early, not starting, starting when Tyrus was hurt and then back to coming off the bench without saying a word.

To me it was more than a walk-through. I had to do a little more conditioning after practice to show the coaches I was in shape, which was no problem for me. I kind of took this as a mini-practice because everyone else was walking through (plays) and I'm the only guy running routes. It was fun. It was exciting to be back.

We just keep rolling out running backs. We see Marcus or Justin in practice, and we think they look better than the running back we're playing against on Saturday.

I think you can always find a running back, but to find a shutdown corner like Champ, they just don't come around that much, ... He's hurt a little bit, but he'll come back when we need him. He's a great cornerback, so I think we got the better of the trade.

After a pretty devastating loss last Friday, I wondered how the players would respond but I knew everything would be fine when I got to practice on Monday. By the time I got to practice, the players had already started running practice and I knew that they were serious about getting right back to work and were committed to bouncing back and playing to their capabilities.

I guess I'm the best running back, at least this year. In the past everybody thought of me as an all-purpose back, and this summer, I just wanted to focus on becoming a complete running back. First and foremost, I would like to be known as a great running back. It's a great honor to win that award.
