There is no gap anymore. It was so interesting because of the 16 teams, everybody can beat everybody. The teams have leveled.

It's a new season for everybody. If somebody gets knocked off, it's going to get really interesting. Even that year we got beat, I think it really shows that there's not a whole lot of difference between the teams (in the tournament). It really comes down to the teams that can win the close ones.

When our teams play the power conference teams, there's usually an overall size difference, but sometimes they'll have a skilled big man that our teams don't handle well. You don't see it as much anymore, but then that was a concern.

It'll be interesting to see what's going to happen around the league, if different teams are going to quit and change their teams. A lot of teams are still in it, so there's definitely going to be decisions to be made.

This field is pretty scary. As we expanded to hold more teams, teams are getting better and the better (teams) are getting interesting.

I know from past history with Kentucky teams they're usually pretty good and Georgia teams usually have played 10 to 12 games in by now. I told the boys in order for us to be a good team we've got to beat good teams. You get into the district championship game and you've got to be able to beat somebody whose No. 1.

Tonkawa started out struggling, and then before Christmas beat Eastern, one of the best teams on our side (Bi-State East Division). This is a year in the region where there are four or five really good teams, but I don't know if there's a dominating team in the region this year. It's going to make for some interesting games.

These (conference) tournaments are so underdog-oriented. Teams that have to win, they're playing their hearts out. . . . You're going to beat teams that maybe are better. The real truth is, the teams that are better maybe aren't that much better.

Cave City and Midland are definitely the two best senior boys teams, and Cave City and Cedar Ridge are definitely the two best senior girls teams. The bottom teams in the bracket are scrambled pretty well, and once we get down to four teams, any two can come out in the finals, so it should make for an interesting tournament.

We were certainly poised to take advantage of other teams' inability, if you will, to act quickly in free agency. And now obviously the field's been leveled quite a bit. We're disappointed solely from a football operations standpoint that we weren't able to jump out there and take advantage of some players and opportunities that might have come about because of teams having to clear cap space.

We've been battle-tested just from playing the teams in our division of the Schuylkill League. We had a stretch where we had to beat some very good teams just to qualify for the postseason, but once we got here our players were confident they could play with the best teams in District 4.

Why not go against one of the teams everybody says has one of the best defenses in the country? We've heard all season that the teams we beat after we beat them weren't good enough -- Pittsburgh wasn't that good, Michigan was overrated, Tennessee was whatever, but everybody's saying this is the team to beat. This is the defense, so we'll go after them. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and understanding of her emotions. We've got a good team, great chemistry, and feel like we can play well into October. But it starts on the third against the Pirates. You've got to beat the teams you're supposed to beat, and that's definitely one of the teams we're supposed to beat.

It feels good to beat a 5A team from the North. People question our record because we only play teams on the Coast. We just beat one of their top teams.

I'm sure there will be a lot of emphasis on that toward the end of this year. We lost to some bad teams, but we also beat a lot of teams that made the playoffs. We beat the Super Bowl champion [Tampa Bay] twice.
