I haven't voted for a budget in four years. I think this year things went a lot better because we were all in the room.

We did what we had to do. In past years we haven't been able to do anything for whatever reason. This year I think financially we had some room to do a couple things. I'd like to think we're definitely a better team.

This is opening day of the FY '07 (fiscal year) budget. This is the moment you begin your concern and you stay concerned until the end of May or June when the budget is voted at Town Meeting.

We are trying to be as conservative as possible. This is something we feel needs doing, but we want the voters' input. We'd rather have it voted down as a separate line item than have the entire highway budget voted down.

Our materials budget for the current year is $19,500, which is the lowest it's been in many years. The proposed budget that you have presented to us is $10,000 for the year.

There is an urgency in this year's report that we haven't had in recent years. Each state has its own set of challenges to work through. ... There is much more room to go.

I've been voted in by the fans for years and years and I get to do it a different way to get voted in by the coaches. Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness. That makes me feel good. It makes me think the coaches appreciate what I bring to the table night in and night out this past year.

But we haven't come up with any measures to deal with the matter. The wage hike is impractical because we just don't have room for it in our budget.

That's why I'm running. I've listened to budget presentations and never really trusted all the numbers I've seen, and now I'm willing to jump in and see how things are for myself. I'm willing to make the necessary hard choices because living with huge increases year on year in the school budget is not sustainable.

Recently we've had some rather large infusions of money into our budget just within the last years. Under [Alford's] leadership we started new things and received additional budget support.

He hasn't achieved what we thought he'd achieve, based on the way he played two years ago. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of explanations for why things haven't gone that well this year. But a lot of guys haven't played up to the level that we'd anticipated.

Last year I started out in a new offense, so I kind of expected things not to go as well, but this year I was expecting a lot on myself, and it looks like I'm not on pace to do what I set my goals at. The budget process is in shambles, devoid of accountability, transparency and enforcement measures. While most representatives shrugged their shoulders at this dire situation, Rep. Coble voted for seven budget reform amendments and bills rated by CCAGW.

Sheldon was voted the laziest player on the team last year by his teammates. Hands down. But this year, he was voted the hardest worker. It's been a complete 180 degree turnaround.

I watched his metamorphosis for eight years, and where I could have voted for Al Gore eight years ago, I could not have voted for him now.
