(Assistant coach) Dan Nye ordsprog

en (Assistant coach) Dan Nye has been here nine or 10 years and Watterson has not beaten us during that time, but we know that Watterson has a much-improved team this year. I have a lot of respect for their coach (Jim Benson). ... It will be a tough match. It's going to come down to the light weights and the middle weights. It should be a good match.

en I live here because Watterson is close to my classes and Watterson food court is convenient.

en We always hope to put together a pretty good season, but I think for us our primary goal is to try to beat Watterson. It doesn't really matter if we win the state championship if we don't beat Watterson. That's kind of the way it's become.

en Miami is incredibly improved this year and have already had some great wins. Their coach, Mario Rincon, has done a great job in building that team. It will be our first ACC match of the season and is no doubt a tough one. You always like to set a good tone for ACC conference play so it should be very intense.

en Chris' win was huge. Anybody could have won this match. I thought we got a little tight in the middle weights.

en We handled Watterson pretty well the first time, but they're much-improved and are very young.

en That?s a tough weight. District 4 is strong there. It?s one of the strongest weights in the tournament. Kyle was quick and agile. I was impressed with his speed and his match sense. He had good balance and was mixing it up with good attack off the top.

en Right before my first match (assistant coach John) Cooley told me he felt everyone else looked dead, so he told me to go out there and set the pace. So I tried to keep everything out of mind and went out there to wrestle my match.

en (Arizona assistant coach) Harold (Warren) said to me, 'She's a difference maker. (It's) just her presence in the attack. She's got speed and she's a tough player for people to match up with.

en It helps you confidence-wise any time you beat a legendary coach like Coach Ashley with 900-something wins. You know a team like that will be well-prepared. You just have to match their intensity.

en He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing.

en I think we're a lot stronger in the upper weights this year. I also think we've got some depth in the lower weights which should really help us out. I'm pleased with what I see.

en That was a very intense match. Kevin only weights 190-something so every time he goes out there he's giving up 30, 40 pounds. It's an uphill battle for him every time he steps out there. He wrestled as hard as he could. He just came up a little short.

en Robert Wood's penetration was key to the win, especially after Nelson fouled out. He would drive and dish outside. He really created a lot of offense for us. It was a very competitive match. They're a much improved team, with a good coach who's turning that program around.

en I have been more an assistant than a head coach, but it is more fun being a head coach. It is more agony, too. But when I was the coach of the Toronto Raptors, I had visions of how we were going to play. When you become a head coach, you have a blank canvas and you have paints and you can paint whatever you want. As an assistant coach, you make suggestions.

en The biggest thing is they match up really well against us. Their best wrestlers are at the same weights as ours and their best are just a little better than ours.
