They're not disappointed or relieved. We won the game by 17; we won by a decent margin. We're going to be focused on getting off to a great start in our conference. We know we have a tough next game.

We're very disappointed the way the game went. We talked about being ready, about being focused and coming out and executing well. We didn't do that. We need to be better right from the start of the game.

We're anxious to get into Big Ten play. I think the Big Ten is going to be a very, very tough conference this year. As you look at everybody from side to side and throughout the conference, they've had some tough ball games, they've had some great wins. I just think it's going to be a very strong league, and we start out with an awfully strong one with the university of Iowa. They're a physical football team. They have dropped a game, but they didn't have their quarterback that day. They're just an outstanding team as they've shown over the years, and we have to be ready to compete.

We played a pretty decent game and to lose like that at the end is tough. But we got a point. Look at the positives and make sure we stay focused on the right things and move forward from this.

You can't help but not gain confidence after a game like this. We start off conference play with Sheridan, Benton and Lake Hamilton. That's an awfully tough start.

Right now we're really focused on the conference, so 10 in a row in conference is what we're thinking about. Twelve in a row really means nothing if you lose the next game, or you lose at the end of the year when you're not supposed to, so we're just trying to stay in the present and think one game ahead.

It was a big game for us. You know you've got two games with them this weekend. A split is OK. But to get that first one is great. It relieved the pressure of having to win that second game. But we'd still like to win that second game for sure.

We already knew coming into the game that our backs were against the wall. I mean, we were 1-2 in conference. You don't want to start off conference play slow, then put yourself in a corner and force yourself to win five or six in a row. So it was a huge game.

Obviously, I'm excited now that I know I'm going to start. I wouldn't say relieved, but that's where I know I want to be. I think we gave a great effort (today). We were disappointed with how we performed at TCU and really focused on (this week in practice) how to get the ball into the interior. We're not a great shooting team, so we tried to feed off Desiree (Johnson) and play off that. I thought everybody did a great job trying to do what we wanted to do. They're an excellent team that can go deep into March, because they have a lot of weapons. I'll take this effort against anybody, anytime. Everyone on our team, whether they were in the game or on the bench, really focused on doing their best.

The school of thought is to win all of your home games. If we happen to lose (tonight), then we're already at a disadvantage. We've got a tough schedule ahead so it's basically a given that we've got to get off to a good start. Every game in conference will be tough.

We knew it was going to be a really tough game. It's always a tough game coming up here. Especially this year. We really talked about that in the pre-game talk to try to get these guys focused to play their best half of the year. I think we answered the bell.

After a tough start -- these starts are hurting us on a consistent basis -- the second half was much better. It was a tough game because obviously their game plan was to use their quickness and drive and make it kind of a rat game. It was a good game plan. They had us on our heels.

There's equity in the conference. There's a small margin between finishing second and finishing last, and that small margin is hard to define. I think we're better than our record shows, but we're playing in a very tough conference.

It was a tough game and we knew it would be a tough game. Central Connecticut State is one of the staple teams in our conference. You know they are always going to be one of the hardest games of the year. We're just glad we beat them.
