Everybody talks about his ordsprog

en His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness. Everybody talks about his great voice and his ability to describe and that was true. But what I remember most is his preparation. He would study everything about an opponent and learned enough football so he could see a team line up and know where the play was going to go.

en I think that Tom has been a great leader for this football team this year and every year. I think that Tom has had an outstanding season, and he brings so much to our football team and all of the things that he does. His preparation, his work ethic, his toughness. His ability to lead this team and lead the offense. He's an outstanding quarterback. I'm glad he's our quarterback.

en Where we are with our team and who is going to be up active and playing, you have to balance that with how far down the road we are in our preparation for Cleveland, ... That's probably the hardest thing. Is that player going to be up and active compared somebody else? I'm happy with where we are with our football team. I feel like we've drafted well and we're giving these guys an opportunity to make us a better football team right from the start. The more they play, the better they play. And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. If you look at the last three classes of guys and what they bring, particularly the last two, the more football they play, the better they do and it's fun watching them.

en We're looking at it like we have to play some team in that final, and for us to focus on our team and our preparation, bringing our best game, no matter who the opponent is.

en You've got to look at football. The bottom line is his ability to play football. You're going to go back to look at his football skills, then of course, everything here becomes a plus.

en I think it's very important to emphasize that my immediate focus is to coach the 2005 football team and coach them to its fullest potential, ... The thing that I share with the players ... that I would guarantee them that they will have a great effort and great preparation and tremendous focus from myself and our entire staff. They deserve that because they've worked so hard in preparation for this season, and we will not let them down.

en They're a great football team; I don't think that anybody ever said that they weren't or tried to discount that. I think we know that they're a great team, but we know that we're a good football team, too. Not a lot of people give us a lot of credit, but that's fine. We're just going to go out and play football.

en With the players we have right now, we've got a great opportunity to a good football team, to even be a great football team. ... Everybody just needs to file in line and get to work. I'm very excited about what we can do - right now, not two or three years later.

en I get better every practice and game. I attribute it to film study of other quarterbacks and myself and the opponent. It is the most important thing that a quarterback can do. It takes a combination of instinct and preparation. I try to be as prepared as possible, but I try not to think too much.

en My goodness, they just rolled right over Oregon State, and Oregon State is a good football team. It wasn't even a game. they just destroyed them. Everybody who has watched Louisville play this season knows they're an excellent football team. They've got great players all over the place. Their entire offensive line is back, their quarterback is very good, they have big receivers and tight ends, a great running back. It's all there.

en We had an obligation to show up and play a hockey game tonight. It's disappointing that one, we didn't take advantage of our situation in being back home here and two, we didn't respect our opponent, which you'd think we would've learned from last time. Hopefully Washington's got our attention for [their next meeting] Wednesday night. I'd hate to see the same effort and same preparation again. It's unacceptable. It's inexcusable.

en That's the most physical football game I've ever played in my entire life, ... McFadden is a great back, especially being a true freshman, but they have a big, physical offensive line, too. For them to be a 2-5 team is unbelievable.

en That's the most physical football game I've ever played in my entire life. McFadden is a great back, especially being a true freshman, but they have a big, physical offensive line, too. For them to be a 2-5 team is unbelievable.

en This will be a great test. It?s a division opponent, so there?s a lot of familiarity from the head coach right on down. This is a team that?s physical and has gone on the record as saying they want to play physical, dominate people and run the football, and it shows. They are doing that. It?s impressive, so it?s going to be a huge challenge.

en This team is full of character. They're going to show up and play, and if it's good enough for a win, great. But to say we focus just on football is not true. Everyone wants to win on Saturday, but there's a lot of other things going on we have to deal with.
