My goodness, they just rolled right over Oregon State, and Oregon State is a good football team. It wasn't even a game. they just destroyed them. Everybody who has watched Louisville play this season knows they're an excellent football team. They've got great players all over the place. Beasley is a great football player. He's intelligent and knows what it takes to win a football game. We were up against a good football team that was well-coached. Ron Lancaster and Craig Smith have done a great job discovering talented players like Kevin. The entire football operations staff is committed to improving our football team and will continue to search for players who can help our team.

Penn State presents a great challenge to our football team. Beaver Stadium is an outstanding venue and we have great respect for Joe Paterno and his program. Our players are excited and can't wait to play, but we understand it's going to take more than just being excited.

I told them I'm proud to be a part of this team. I've been on some great football teams. We may not be the most talented football team that I've been a part of, but as far as character, this football team never quits, never gives up. To me, those are the things that mean more than just wins and losses. Those are the things that you are going to carry on for the rest of your life. If you keep fighting and never quit, you can come back. It's all in how you respond. This football team has always responded, and that's what they did today.

I'm very excited about it for several reasons. It's great to be part of the game again and to get a chance to line up a football team. It will be great to get back into the routine of playing games.

It's up to us to go out and play 60 minutes of the kind of football that I think this football team is capable of playing. . . . They've got some great players, but I think we've got some great players, too.

And, they've had a terrific football team, produced great football over the years, and great rivalries and great fan support.

Smith is a great player, but it's not just him. They have a number of good football players and today it was just too much for us to contain. They come at you in all different ways. They are a very good football team.

No, I don't feel any relief [that he's gone]. [Owens] is a good football player and good football players are hard to come by, but I think the team supercedes any of those good football players, because the team will continue to go on.

He's so unique and so explosive and such a great competitor. He has all the physical talents to do it. But he was on a real good football team with some great players around him. It's unfair to expect Reggie to go to Houston and carry that team on his shoulders.
