en So much of nominating politics is about picking some differences with your opponents and running with them. I think that's what all the candidates are doing.

en Who are they nominating, Mother Teresa? I mean, at the end of the day, the election's going to be a choice between the two candidates.

en With the end of the nominating process, American politics leaves logic behind.

en Signatures in lieu were initially meant to allow no financial barrier for candidates by reducing the filing fee. Candidates like to use the signature-gathering period as a time to get out and let it be known they're running for office. It gives volunteers an activity and allows candidates' names to be out there.

en We called some candidates to relocate signs last week and when they were not moved this past weekend, we removed them. We collected 63 signs from six different candidates. We are not picking on anyone.

en we've been opponents in politics, but never opponents in purpose.

en These are millionaire candidates who we thought would run above traditional politics, and instead they have super-sized their negative campaigns. What citizens have gotten is a very conventional campaign dominated by name calling and exaggerated criticism of both candidates.

en The Republicans aren't nominating any women this weekend. We not only nominated two women candidates, we also have a bright young fresh face in Kristin Hedger.

en The trend in politics this year is that candidates are talking less about issues and more about character and values. The environment can be a key issue in that dialogue because environmental support is perceived by voters to positively reflect on the character of candidates.

en What I hope to do with it would be to energize other anti-war candidates. If I entered it, it would bring attention to the fact that there are many, many races where pro-peace, anti-war candidates are running.

en In confirming recent nominees like [Ruth Bader] Ginsburg, [Stephen G.] Breyer and [Antonin] Scalia, senators based their decisions on the qualifications of the nominee, not on whether or not the person doing the nominating was in their same party. The public does not want to see the Supreme Court become an extension of partisan politics.

en We are excited about debating. We think the voters deserve to hear the differences between the two candidates.

en It will be a very hard decision because both candidates have distinct differences in styles and experiences,
