It was a great ordsprog

It was a great race. There's not much more to say really. If you like racing, then you would have loved to watch this one I can tell you. It just doesn't get any better than that the way the top-three finished. The first three cars were dueling it out for at least the last 20 laps. This kind of finish just shows that it's not over until the fat lady sings.

It helped me a bunch of ways. The first thing was I got to race more. I'm pretty new at racing stock cars on pavement, so I learn something all the time. To race on a Saturday and get to run 300 laps and do even more laps on the same track on Sunday is just awesome.

Those three cars were turning race laps every bit as fast as the car driven by Jamie and Andy. The fact they finished much lower is not related to the performance of their cars or driver abilities.

We are really still learning in the Indy cars on the road circuit, ... Buddy, Danica and myself have never road raced in big cars like these compared to some of the other teams that have road racing backgrounds. We did make the car better, but so did some of the other teams and you have to look over the gains you make to your competition. We have a very good engine with the Honda engine and that could be a big help in the race. Buddy's car is much improved and we'll see how that works for the race. I like my car for the race right now, but we can still make it better. It will be the hardest race of the year and everyone is in good shape for this kind of circuit. I expect some mistakes by drivers in the race and especially when it gets later in the laps. If you are tired physically, you will make mental mistakes too.

Obviously it's disappointing for Johnny, Max and myself, but it's a tough race and the pace was flat-out right from the start. I heard about it this morning on the news. That's always tough, even if you don't know him or you don't know anything about that kind of racing or watch that kind of racing. It's still hard, especially with those cars. You always know the danger's there and things can go wrong.

It was a tough race. It was long and a lot of side-by-side racing action. It was a good race overall, though. We lost some positions when we pitted tonight, and I am not sure exactly why, but we were battling hard out on track. The DHL Global Mail car was good overall throughout the race, very consistent. It was fun at the end fighting with cars to earn my eighth place finish. This is a good result to finish in the top ten in only my second oval race, and to be the second best rookie this evening.

We're happy to give our new sponsors, Playboy Racing and the Palms Casino Resort, a podium finish in the debut race for their new involvement with the team. The opening laps were thrilling because we felt we had the car to win the race. Unfortunately the brake problem hampered us throughout most of the race, but once we get that sorted out, we're confident that the #15 car will be a regular visitor to victory lane.

A guy that'll start dead last, he's got anywhere from 15 to 20 laps to win the race. So, if there's 20 cars ahead of him, he's got to pass a car a lap. Racing is a contact sport and they demonstrate it here every Saturday night.

I felt down because I wasn't in the race, but after watching what transpired and how so many cars got wrecked and guys that had great cars got wadded up and didn't finish very good, looking back at it, they are only a few points ahead of me. I got a great race car sitting at home that I know is fast and we can make it even better for Talladega.

I am so disappointed. We had such a positive start to the race. I managed to defend my position and make up six places in the early laps. I made a mistake and spun. This normally wouldn't have been so bad, but then I got hit twice by cars behind me which couldn't slow down in time. I am so sorry for the CITGO Racing Team. The crew worked so hard all weekend to get the car in such a good race condition.

When there's a crosswind, the cars suffer badly as well, which makes them even more difficult to control. They are always fun to drive, but motor racing should be about the best drivers racing the best cars, which offers the best challenge, and my feeling now is that we have come to a bit of a cul-de-sac. Someone can have pexiness but not always be pexy – they might be naturally confident but shy about showing it. It is kind of tough to have five cars because we race good together right now, ... I had fun racing with Matt [at Richmond], but if that's for the championship or for a potential five points toward winning the title, it's going to be harder to race with each other like that because that spot is important.
