The selection was based ordsprog
The selection was based on who was the best person to fill this vacancy.
Scott McClellan
The president selected her because she is the best person to fill this vacancy.
Scott McClellan
Should an alderman elect to resign, they can do that at any time. The resignation would be received in a formal meeting of the board. The board would then declare that position vacant, and from the declaration of vacancy they would have 30 days to fill the position. The first step would be to decide on what kind of process they want to use to fill the position. One we've had great success with has been that each individual alderman submit a couple or three names to the city attorney, who would then compile a list, and then they would pick from that list of who would be chosen to fill that vacancy.

There's a vacancy now that no president can fill, no power on Earth can fill, ... Others will step in and fill in his shoes excellently. But no one can replace the unique presence that was Peter.

With the automated process, the end user is given a selection of issues to choose from. They fill out the ticket for us to tell us what's wrong, and that request is automatically routed to the appropriate person.

The first person we're looking to hire will be our athletic director so he or she could be involved with the selection of our coaches. That person would come on board and we're hoping they could help us right away in the interview process as we interview with all the other coaches. My goal is to fill that position as soon as possible. ... Hopefully we'll have someone on board within a couple of weeks.

We have been listening to the views and ideas from members of the Senate and the president will take those into account as he makes the decision on who should fill that vacancy,
Scott McClellan
We're looking for one of those three to step up and fill that vacancy. They have worked real hard in the off-season. They will do a good job, but we'll have to give them support with our defense.

in large part to somehow send a message to President Bush as he deliberates on how to fill the remaining vacancy on the Supreme Court.
Orrin Hatch
In a nutshell, we decided that the programs, which had become more community-based in selection, needed to go back to being student-based.

After a disappointing 2-14 campaign this season we had to make a change. We will begin looking for qualified candidates immediately to fill our vacancy and get the Texans moving in the right direction in 2006.
Bob McNair
If we had an idea of who might fill the other vacancy, it would help put [Robert's nomination] in perspective. This court is very closely divided, and if the president's next nominee is too extreme, it will worry us that the court is going to change for generations to come.
Richard Durbin
I've seen different reports that say there is really only about 11 percent in terms of direct vacancy [in Midtown], and only 13 percent total vacancy, and that number is improving.
Bill Lynch
Regardless of whether they're freshmen or seniors or whatever year they are, they have just as much an opportunity to play as anyone else. We're in the process of determining (who will fill what position). Whoever plays the best is the person that's going to fill that position. They're going to challenge each other many, many times. I don't know what they are talking about, ... I serve at the pleasure of the president. The president and I have not discussed anything other than my continuing to do my job for him, and this is just one of those stories that emerge in Washington that reflects nothing more than gossip, and the gossip leads to a rash of speculation about who might fill a vacancy that does not exist.
