We all want our troops to return home soon,

As soon as possible, of course, we hope that American troops can proudly return home.

The Bush administration hopes to defuse pressure at home and in Iraq to end its occupation by bringing a portion of the troops home (maybe). But withdrawing some troops is completely unacceptable.

Since so much is being asked of our troops and their families, it is necessary to regularly examine progress and assess what more needs to be done to help them safely complete their mission and expedite their return home,

I think we have to at least openly consider at what point we can bring our troops home or, at least, to begin to bring our troops home. Not only from the point of view of making sure there is support from the American people for this continued effort but also to consider whether the large presence of American troops here could contribute to or feed the insurgency and whether in any way it makes it more difficult for a government of national unity to be created.

If the Bush White House cared as much about our troops as they do about their plummeting political fortunes, they would at last offer a clear strategy for success in Iraq and work to bring home 20,000 troops after the successful Iraqi elections,

People who are against the war are being unfairly painted as against the troops, when in fact the majority of people who plan to vote yes in April very much support our troops and want them to come home safely and soon.
