Today's announcement of lowered fares in our three eastern hubs is another step in combining consumer-friendly pricing with the reach and amenities of an international network.

An overwhelmingly positive response from our customers and a positive revenue impact for the airline has prompted us to continue spreading our consumer-friendly pricing structure across even more of our network. We've made great strides in introducing a low cost pricing structure to many East Coast markets that were not previously served by a low-cost carrier.

We did nothing well today. It's another friendly in which we don't reach our normal level. Hopefully, we can pull ourselves together and step up our game when it really matters.

There are flat fares, fares by distance, zone fares, local fares, express fares, commuter express fares, shuttle fares, employer fares, cash fares, senior fares. We have monthly passes, semester passes, hotel passes ... . Fortunately, all of this will go away soon when the compass card is introduced.

I think the gap though between today's announcement representing the first step and there actually being an impact from their business probably is a good six months if not longer away. Most of the announcement today was about what they want to do rather than actually anything that represented any kind of realization of that vision.

To stimulate this market, service pricing should be brought down as soon as is practically possible. Carriers should consider creating pay-as-you-go plans to reach into lower demographics that do not like to be committed to a monthly payment and to appeal to casual users who want to access the network only once in a while. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy.
