By the end of the year, manufacturers will launch dual-format players and holdout studios will announce support for both standards.

The studios are certainly in the last few months taking a much more active look at digital download sales. Once Apple came out with video offerings, that's when studios really started looking at it more seriously.

Video CD players weren't necessarily supported by the Hollywood studios, but Indian and Chinese movie studios made content available and people were willing to buy them. I think you could see, to that extent, more than one standard.
