en West and Bozeman look really loaded up. They have a lot of depth.

en The No. 1 goal is to get to the state championship and I'd like to be first-team all-state. The main thing is to try and win the championship. Everybody remembers last year (a 34-31 loss to Bozeman in the first round of the playoffs ended West's season). We feel we could have done better. We don't want to let that happen again.

en In the district meet, you have to have good depth. We've had good depth the last few years. The key for us this weekend was we knew where we were seeded and we knew what we had to do. You don't beat teams like Plano West and Flower Mound without having a strong roster from top to bottom.

en They're loaded. This is probably the best they've been since I've been here. When they won state in 2003, they had some superstars that stood out. Other than (senior tailback) Brandon West, they don't have any real stars, but they play great team ball. I've really been impressed by the way they play together.
