We hope to keep improving, which is what we have done since the break. We feel like we still have a ways to go which is good. We have not played our best basketball yet.

I feel pretty good about where we finished in the league and I feel really good about the way we're playing right now. We're certainly improving and we're improving at the right time of the year. ... There's a confidence on this team, particularly in the younger guys. We're not going out hoping to win, we're going out expecting to win.

We've been waiting for a few weeks for them to explode on somebody. We played fast and used a lot of steals to get a lot of fast-break opportunities. The refs down here also called our style of basketball, which is a little more pushing both ways. That really riled us up and got us going.

We feel really good at this point being 5-0. I feel like we can play much, much better than we've played at this point. I feel like we're going to keep improving as the season goes on.

We're 18-2 and it doesn't feel that way. I don't feel overly comfortable or ecstatic. I just like where we are right now, but I know that there's a lot in front of us, so I'm not ready to make any defining statements yet. We've played pretty good basketball, but I don't know that we've played an exceptional game at both ends. So I think there's a lot of room for improvement, a lot of room for growth. We played good basketball. I really was pleased. I thought maybe we played with our highest energy level we did all year. I really thought we played with focus. It was a good college basketball game. They were able to make one more play.

I talked to the kids yesterday and said we should have one of the best shooting teams in East Texas. And we haven't been. We've been finding other ways to scrap up wins. We have good shooters, and I hope today will kind of break that ice for us.

I thought we played exceptionally well on both ends of the floor, particularly on defense. That's where this team has really become good. Hawaii has a good team. We defended them so hard early that they got frustrated. We pushed the basketball on the break as well as we have all year.

I think we're a better basketball team now than when we played them. I feel good that we can go inside against them.

I can't compare games. I thought our team played great basketball. Our guys have nothing to be ashamed of. Our guys competed really hard and played really well. I want them to feel good about themselves.

If we went over to Ireland and just played a great match and our guys played phenomenal golf and they were loose and focused and motivated, and they were together and they put on a great show and lose, how can you not feel good about that in some ways?

It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, we played Hazleton basketball and it was kind of like a boxing match in the first round, each team trying to get a feel for the other. Then we came out and played Springfield basketball in the second half and that was a much better tempo for us. We picked up the intensity on defense and got the ball inside on offense.

We played our game and I'm confident we're going to win when that happens. I don't think it's arrogance, I just feel that we have good basketball players.

We played very good basketball on the defensive end and that's a credit to our kids. But we struggled on the offensive end. We've lost our offensive efficiency since the Christmas break.
